Northern Värmland
Hornnäs lies peacefully at the edge of the forest. There are good opportunities for hiking and swimming right in the surrounding area.
Ekshärad, with a shop, petrol station and school, is 10 minutes away by car. Hagfors, with a wider range of shops, can be reached in a good 25 minutes.
Northern Värmland is a dream for individualists. The landscape is shaped by the majestic Klarälven river, which carries meltwater from the Norwegian and Swedish mountain regions south to Lake Vänern. Swimming here is pure refreshment, but there are also countless forest lakes waiting to be discovered. Everywhere you can fish, row, pick mushrooms and berries, or encounter the wildlife of the north. Karlstad can be reached in about 1.5 hours, Oslo Airport in about 3 hours.
