Country bliss on the Mangälven

Åmot Mellan 1, Brunskog, asking price €335,000 (SEK 3,750,000)
Living area 145 m², plot 37,575 m² (3.8 ha)
What a find! On the road that many call the most beautiful country road in Sweden stands a lovingly kept old Värmland farm with the charm of times long past.
Surrounded by 3.8 hectares of its own land, framed by meadows and pastures, the farm stretches down to the bank of the Mangälven.
On a rise stands the red main house with its outbuildings, a Swedish classic in Falu red with white glazing-bar windows and a tiled roof.
Come in! Through the covered veranda you enter a bright hall with white panelling. A curved staircase of solid pine leads up to the attic floor.
The hallway leads on into the house through two round arches. As soon as you step in, a historic tiled stove with green relief decoration greets you.
The kitchen is the heart of the house: a generous country kitchen with a kitchen island and exposed ceiling beams. Newly fitted in 2017.
The kitchen also has a historic Swedish cast-iron kitchen stove with a whitewashed niche and an old oven.
From the hall, the living rooms of the ground floor open up: a living room and a salon with white Art Nouveau tiled stoves, plus another room with a tiled stove and a garden view.
The extension built in 2000/2001 holds the boiler room, a laundry room with shower and WC, and a storeroom.
The upper floor awaits you flooded with light, with a bright landing and pine floorboards.
From several rooms with pretty wallpaper, the view opens onto the landscape.
The upper floor also has two tiled stoves, plus a second bright bathroom with blue accents.
The outbuildings group around the house to form a farmyard:
a large farm building with electricity, part of which has been renovated since 2018 and to which a carport was added in 2016. Also a tractor garage (partly renovated), chicken house, stolpbod (a traditional storehouse raised on posts), former smithy, pump house, earth cellar and dog run.
A garden house with a covered wooden pergola, an aluminium greenhouse and a terraced ornamental garden round off the property.
3.8 hectares of open pasture and a little woodland of its own reach down to the Mangälven river. The plot borders the river, so you can settle in beside the water. Ideal for people and animals.

The location
The south-western Värmland
Åmot Mellan lies in Brunskog, in the municipality of Arvika. In a few minutes you are in Mangskog with its nursery, school and grocery shop; in Vikene you will find a petrol station. You can reach Arvika with full services in about 25 minutes by car.
The country road the farm stands on is regarded by many as one of the most beautiful in Sweden. The region around Arvika is a popular, culturally rich landscape with plenty of forest, water and opportunities for the outdoor life.
You quite forget that the main roads take you to Karlstad or Oslo quickly. So there are plenty of ways to arrive here in the middle of the wilderness within 1 to 4 hours of the ferry or airport.
