The location
Wooded heights flank the fjord-like Lake Rottnen to the west and east. The Finnfallet ski area, with its lifts and slopes of various difficulty levels, also extends over the western hills. Snow cannons guarantee snow from December to April. When snow conditions are good, cross-country tracks are prepared here and at various other places in the area. Torsby, the cross-country skiing mecca with its ski tunnel, and the Hovfjället mountain region with 20 km of tracks can also be reached in 45 minutes by car.
The lake, over 20 km long, stretches from north to south and offers a fascinating new view again and again, depending on the weather. At the northern end there is a long, fine-sand beach - bathing fun awaits here with gently sloping shores in a wonderfully secluded location, the beach turns into a pine forest, and the view sweeps across the lake to the south - a bathing paradise of a kind you do not expect this far north.
You are surrounded here by forests, flowing streams and still lakes, yet only
15 km separate you from the pleasant town of Sunne. The flourishing small town also welcomes discerning customers with a good range of goods in two supermarkets, a well-stocked bookshop and several attractive boutiques. A selection of international restaurants in good locations also awaits you.
